Welcome to my second monthly review report on Tropical U.P! As I have indicated in my first monthly review I will post a monthly overview of all the things that I have done the past month, my successes and struggles and how far I am from realizing certain goals.
You might ask why I want to share these details with you in the first place? First and foremost, they are here because they help me with keeping track of my progress. Once I put it online there is no denying to the things that I should have done, but also sharing the things that went well for me.
The second reason I decided to put these reviews online is that I thought it would be interesting for you to follow changes that are ongoing in my life. As might know I was laid off earlier and since then a lot has happened. I hope that these reviews encourage and motivate you to chase your own dreams.
August was a pretty good month and I learned a lot of valuable lessons, so let’s get started!
WHAT HAPPENED IN AUGUST
August was our first month in Vietnam and I have noticed a lot of positive things since we moved here. On a personal level, I feel much better and my motivation and creativity has improved significantly. I have written 11 posts in August, a lot better compared to the five blog posts that I wrote in July!
As you might have noticed I have changed the entire design and backend of Tropical U.P, making everything feel and look a lot better. This for me was definitely a major improvement and something that I should have done a lot earlier. Switching to the Genesis framework has provided so many benefits and I should have switched a lot earlier.
In terms of traffic that Tropical U.P is getting, I noticed an increase of over 100% compared to July 2015. Actual numbers of unique visitors are not in the range that I want so further development is needed. Partially this issue is also due to the fact that I did not yet felt comfortable to share and promote my website on a big scale, my re-design makes me a lot more confident.
For me, it was also important to ensure that Tropical U.P has enough content for new visitors, as I don’t want to give them the impression that I am not serious about what I am doing here. I content with the amount of information that is available on Tropical U.P now and I will continue to add more useful content at my current pace.
There were also some critical points for me as I still have not launched my YouTube series, something that I should have done already. Time management remains a very important issue, especially since I am not making a full income from my online endeavors and therefore also rely on freelance work.
All together I am not there yet but I feel that I am making good progress. I have no doubt that I will make good progress in September and that I will further grow Tropical U.P as a hub for everything that is related to online businesses.
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN SEPTEMBER
In September, I plan to finish the last parts of the re-design of Tropical U.P so that I can start promoting more efficiently. I compiled a list (which seems ever growing) of all the most important tasks at hand. This list will help me to track what is most important and my progress overall.
In terms of audience growth, I want to continue my growth pattern from last month and I aim to attract another 100% growth in monthly visitors. Although this being a tough goal, I have no doubt that this number is within my reach.
I will continue to add more goals along the way so stay tuned!
Thanks for reading my second monthly review. This monthly review is still a little bit on the short side, but don’t worry, the coming months I will have a lot more to share. Thanks for your support and I am looking forward sharing the next review! Let me know if you have any suggestions of other aspects to include in this monthly review, thanks and stay awesome!
