Content Writing Quality over Quantity

How many times per week should you post something new, or how often should distribute your newsletter? Important questions for anyone who is distributing content one way or another. You want to provide enough value to your customers or audience but what is the best way?

First and foremost it is important that the quality of your work is good. You don’t want to sell a half-baked product to your customers. In case you are publishing content, you don’t want to publish something that is full of grammatical errors. This makes your product seemed rushed and gives people the impression that you are not serious about what you are doing.

But what can you do to ensure that you deliver high-value content to your audience, read my actionable tips below!

Use the right tools for the job

Delivery quality content doesn’t solely rely on the tools that you use, still the right tools for the job matter. Using right tools allow you to work more efficiently and ultimately increase the quality of your work.

There are a lot of good tools available that will help you with getting high-quality content out there. Personally I am a big fan of Grammarly, which checks for grammatical errors and spelling mistakes right as I type. Another tool that I believe is of great help is ZenPen, which allows you to minimal distraction while you write and has to option to export your text as HTML.

Publish your content on fixed dates

As soon as you are building an audience people will be expecting new articles on certain dates. Make sure that when they check your website they will not leave disappointed.

Make it a commitment to publish your content on fixed dates and keep yourself to it. On the other hand don’t be too harsh about it. If you committed yourself to write four articles a week, but you can only find the time/inspiration to write one or two, do that but they have to be good.

Stay in tune with current trends and what others are doing

It is very important to have a feeling of what your audience is interested in and what is currently happening within your industry. Stay on top of the most current developments and aim to always provide your audience with the latest information.

If you find yourself without inspiration it can also help to look what others in your industry are doing, not to copy them but to identify how you can deliver more value to your audience.

Don’t limited yourself to just one topic or type of media 

Maybe you are blogging about personal finance and you feel you lack the inspiration to keep publishing high-quality content. Identify topics that are related to your general topic and finds ways to add value to your readers. In this example you could for example also review personal finance software.

The same goes for different types of media, sometimes you can spice things up by delivering your content in a different format. Maybe it is time for a podcast, maybe a vlog or a nice infographic.

Remember it is not important how many articles, posts or vlogs you put out there, what matters is the value you provide to others. Ultimately it is better to publish just one thing every week that is really really good than five things that below average.
