Hi, my name is Joep!

Hi there, welcome to Tropical U.P, good to have you here.

My name is Joep van der Poel and I am the founder of Tropical U.P, an online space that I created to support aspiring entrepreneurs. On Tropical U.P, you will find information related all the different aspects of starting and growing an online business.

But first let me share some backstory!

Ever since I was a child I have been involved with businesses, I started with selling ice cream on the side of the road when I was eight years old and I started my first ‘business’ related to the internet when I was 12 years old. I started building websites for local small business owners and I consulted on hardware problems that they were experiencing.

Over the past few years, I have always been involved with online businesses, one way or another. I am very interested in technology, web development, online marketing and most of all helping you and your business thrive!

What is Tropical U.P?

I already run several websites myself and as I mentioned before I am no stranger to the internet and everything about it. Whenever I am looking for some new information on the internet, I realise that there is a lot of noise. A lot of the information available on the internet is not correct and does not alway have your best interest in mind.

That bothers me, a lot.

Since I have been involved with online businesses for such a long time, I decided to put together a website that has all my experiences. I want to give you an honest and transparent voice of reasons when it comes to building an online business.

So many people on the internet are trying to make a quick buck and I know how hard it is to cut through the noise and know what is important for you. Tropical U.P is the answer to that!

Tropical U.P is also an account of my personal online journey. I have included information and steps from an absolute beginner’s perspective. You can find a clear step by step explanation of all the aspects that are relevant to your online business.
